Comparison
Load7 vs Fitbod
This is the only pairing on the site where both apps sell the same thing: software that decides what you train next. Fitbod has been doing it longer and charges USD 95.99 a year. Load7 charges more and gives the logging away.
Every figure below comes from the vendor’s own pricing page or its App Store listing, with a source link under each app. Where a vendor does not publish a number, the table says "No data" instead of an estimate.

Price: Fitbod is cheaper, Load7 is free until the AI
Fitbod costs USD 15.99 a month or USD 95.99 a year. Load7 Premium is USD 14.99 a month with no annual plan, so a year is USD 179.88. On an annual basis Fitbod is the cheaper subscription by USD 83.89.
The comparison shifts if you are not going to pay at all. Fitbod has no free plan, only a 7-day trial, so after a week the app stops. Load7 keeps the routine planner, unlimited logging and the full stats set free with no time limit, and charges for the AI layer only.
Both statements are true at once. Fitbod is cheaper for a subscriber, and Load7 is the only one of the two that still works a month later if nobody pays.
Free plans: one of them does not have one
Fitbod has no free tier. The 7-day trial is the whole free experience, and afterwards the app is unusable without a subscription. For a product whose entire value is the algorithm, that is a defensible model.
Load7 splits it differently. Everything outside the AI is free and stays free: routine planning with no cap on routine count, unlimited logging, full stats and analytics, no ads and no advertising SDK in the build. Custom exercises are the one free-tier limit worth knowing about, and they sit in Premium.
The practical effect is that you can run Load7 as a plain logger indefinitely and decide about the AI later. With Fitbod that decision arrives on day eight.
Who each app is for
Both build plans. They disagree about what happens next.
- Load7
- People who want their plan actively driven rather than merely recorded, and who accept a price closer to coaching than to tracking.
- Fitbod
- People who want a mature, proven workout generator and do not need to talk to a coach.
When to choose Fitbod instead
Fitbod is the better purchase in more situations than this page might suggest:
- You want a proven generator and nothing else. Fitbod’s algorithm has been in the field far longer than Load7 and carries a much larger body of logged training behind its recommendations.
- You want the cheaper annual bill. USD 95.99 against USD 179.88 is not a close call, and Fitbod bills annually while Load7 does not offer that option at all.
- You do not want to talk to your training app. Load7’s coach chat is a large part of what Premium buys. If a generated plan you never discuss is exactly what you want, you would be paying Load7 for a feature you ignore.
- You need the exercise library to be exhaustive on day one. Custom exercises are Premium in Load7, so a free account works from the built-in catalogue only.
FAQ
Is Load7 or Fitbod better for AI programming?
They differ in what the AI is allowed to do. Fitbod runs a proprietary algorithm that reads your sets, reps, fatigue and rest to pick the next workout, tuned on a far larger volume of training data. Load7 adds a coach chat over the same kind of data, so a plan change can be questioned and adjusted in conversation. Fitbod is the more proven generator, Load7 is the one you can argue with.
Does Fitbod have a free plan?
No. Fitbod offers a 7-day trial and no free tier. Load7 keeps logging, routine planning and stats free with no time limit and charges for the AI layer only, so the two apps put the paywall in different places.
Which is cheaper, Load7 or Fitbod?
Fitbod, by USD 83.89 a year. Fitbod is USD 95.99 a year or USD 15.99 a month. Load7 Premium is USD 14.99 a month with no annual plan, so a year is USD 179.88. Load7 only comes out cheaper if you stay on the free tier and never subscribe.
Do both apps run on the web?
Yes. Fitbod covers iOS, Android and web, and Load7 covers web, iOS and Android.
Why does Load7 cost more than Fitbod?
Because logging is free in Load7, the USD 14.99 a month is priced against coaching rather than against a tracker subscription. That is the intention behind the number, not a justification of it. If you would use the generator and nothing else, Fitbod delivers that for less.
