Comparison

Load7 vs Strong

Strong declares no AI features and has no plans to sell you any. Load7 Premium is almost entirely AI. That makes this the cleanest comparison on the site, because outside the logging screen the two apps barely overlap.

Every figure below comes from the vendor’s own pricing page or its App Store listing, with a source link under each app. Where a vendor does not publish a number, the table says "No data" instead of an estimate.

Price: Strong costs a sixth of Load7

Strong PRO is USD 29.99 a year, USD 19.99 for six months, or USD 99.99 once. Load7 Premium is USD 14.99 a month with no annual plan, which puts a year at USD 179.88, about six times the Strong subscription.

The comparison only makes sense once you know what the extra money is not buying. It is not buying a better logging screen. Strong records a set in about two taps and has been refining that path for years. Load7 Premium buys the routine generator, the coach chat, screenshot import and one-click suggestions, and none of those make the set in front of you go in faster.

Strong also sells something Load7 does not: a one-off price. USD 99.99 ends the conversation permanently, and seven months of Load7 Premium already costs more than that.

Free plans: three routines against no limit

Strong free keeps unlimited saved workouts but allows 3 custom routines. Load7 free has no cap on routine count, unlimited logging, and the full stats and analytics set, with custom exercises held back for Premium.

Three routines covers a single training block and nothing else. An upper lower split plus a separate travel session already fills every slot, and a deload variant means deleting something. If you run one programme at a time, that limit will never touch you.

Neither app declares advertising in its App Store listing, and Load7 ships without an advertising SDK.

Who each app is for

The short version for each.

Load7
People who want their plan actively driven rather than merely recorded, and who accept a price closer to coaching than to tracking.
Strong
People who value simplicity above all, Strong does one thing and does it fast.

When to choose Strong instead

Three cases, and the first one covers most people:

  • You already know what you are doing in the gym. Strong records it faster than anything else here and never asks you to read a suggestion. Load7 Premium would be an expensive way to add screens you do not need.
  • You want a one-off payment. USD 99.99 buys Strong permanently. Load7 sells a monthly subscription and nothing else.
  • You log from an Apple Watch. Strong’s watch app is mature and central to how the app gets used. Load7 runs on web, iOS and Android, and the web app only helps if you plan at a desk.

FAQ

Does Strong have AI?

No. Strong declares no AI features in its App Store listing and the product has stayed a logger by design. If you want plan generation or a coach that reads your history, Strong is not that app, and on their side it reads as a deliberate choice rather than a gap they are rushing to fill.

Is Load7 worth six times the price of Strong?

Only if you would use the AI. Logging, the routine planner and the full stats set are free in Load7, so the USD 179.88 buys the routine generator, screenshot import, the coach chat and one-click suggestions. Lifters who write their own programmes get nothing out of that, and Strong at USD 29.99 a year is the better purchase for them.

Does Strong have a web version?

Not currently. The App Store listing covers iOS, Android and Apple Watch, and a web version has been announced but is not available. Load7 runs on web, iOS and Android today.

Which has the better free plan?

Load7, on routine count. Strong free allows 3 custom routines, Load7 free does not cap them and adds the full stats set. The limit to weigh on the Load7 side is custom exercises, which sit in Premium.
